MIMIC THIS! When you get invited to events 3000 miles away (or 20 of them just across town), use COPY & PASTE with the really interesting events to seed your own community's plans for similar events. Why start from scratch.... Beg, borrow and mimic! More....
Welcome recently added members. Check periodically to see if friends you have invited have joined.
Hello Les! I tried to respond on Transition USA and kept getting another web site. I am not sure why. I just wanted to let you know that when we get our little farm well under way we would love to share some of our experiences with eveyone. We live here in East Tx and are learning to farm with horses so wish us luck.
I'm a little confused - you want me to Create a Group for Kings Counsel and one for Consulting by Carol Cole-Lewis? (I was expecting just to add a link to a list somewhere on a registry.....)
Hi Les,
I just sent personal comment messages inviting everyone left at the old VA site to come to the new site. We just finished a Transition Training and need to get everyone on board so I hope my invite worked! Let me know if you need anything else.
Karen
Thanks for the welcoming words. Bow currently is being organized in the old fashioned door to door style of bringing our little rural community together and overcoming fear through relationship building. There are many under and unemployed people in this little community and we are looking ro build a foundation of support including a community garden, a little park by a field that looks at the Salish Sea's San Juan Islands and now, we are doing house concerts, may poles and an annual bicycle parade. The change in the community is remarkable to me. We haven't gone high tech yet, in any way, but that is hopefully not far down the road, as personally, I am hoping to help engage more work for the skilled self=employed folks that are hurting so much. I left the corporate world in disgust many years ago and left many of my computer skills there so, honestly, I have much catching up to do. I am very interested in using social media now, but have serious time constraints because I too am self employed. It feels so good to know that there are others out there and getting organized for a new society where the economy supports people (and by extension the biosphere) instead of the other way around. None too soon, I dare say. Sarai is truly a wonder and watching her gather up her energy to spend on making a better world brings me great joy. Peace.

Hi, Les. Thanks for the email prompting me to tell Transition Iowa folks still on the old .ning to move over to the new site. I've just emailed all of the people on the oldsite who are from Iowa, plus a contact in Kansas City. A handful of them on the old site are already on the new one, but I emailed them anyway. I also emailed you as you still appear on the old site too. Thanks for all your work, I really appreciate it. We're gradually picking up speed in Transition Des Moines--and I'll be figuring out how to use this .ning site and get help with keeping it up.
Thanks for the welcome Les.
Silver City does not yet have a site for its Transition efforts which are in early stages. This will likely happen after the Oct 23/24 TT Workshop by Maggie Seeley in Albuquerque. I have had trouble with the websites given the changes, and am in the process of attempting to have a group of us register for the Workshop. Sent maggie an e-mail this morning, and as busy as she is, I may not hear immediately. The Workshop is not listed on the training activities posted by Transitions US, and the old Transitions NM website has not yet been replaced. Appreciate pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Nick
I will be happy to add the link to our site, so tell me how to do it. So far I have seen the benefit of a web site, and I believe we will add a blog to our site. However the merits of a social networking site eludes me. Way too much stuff to wade through that I have no interest in.
Les, did you happen to see the post referring to the July-August newsletter for Gardens for Humanity that I linked on Verde Resilient Community? You can read about some of the projects we are working on. Click here to view the post.. Thanks for your interest!
Thanks for the welcome. I am prlud and honored to join the Transitions network. I think Transitions is performing a vital function in an understandablle and do-able way. I'd like to have you and your friends as my friends.

Happy to admin but not sure of what is required. I am still getting used to navigating the site. Is there anything I need to know?

I have just joined as per your e-mail today. I am confused - Ithought you said there were 185 members?
