MIMIC THIS! When you get invited to events 3000 miles away (or 20 of them just across town), use COPY & PASTE with the really interesting events to seed your own community's plans for similar events. Why start from scratch.... Beg, borrow and mimic! More....

Thanks for the welcome, Les! I'm just get acquainted with the movement and community now, so I'll get familiarized with things, fill out my profile a bit as you suggested, and as I start learning more (particularly about anything happening here in Cambridge) I'll definitely share whatever seems like it would be relevant and useful to the community. More coming soon...
Les I am just getting my mind wrapped around the transition movement and its implications for my local community. I know building consensus with the people on my street regarding what they see as important to their lives is a first step. I have lived in the neighborhood for 20 years and the bonds are weak due to the car and varied interests. This is very different from the reality of my childhood where I knew my neighbors and I had been in most of there homes for meals. The adult males would hold court at the trash can when they took the garbage out after dinner. I am pondering a joint activity to open lines of communication in a friendly non threatening way and to ask quality of life questions like what give you joy and what would life be like if that activity was no longer an option.
Les, your scan project is awesome. I want one for Transition Wisconsin. And I want it now. Please use the following criteria. Any Transition movement, initiative or transition group in Wisconsin. Let's start with that and work on tweaking later. Have you copyrighted the idea yet? LOL
Hi, Les! I know you probably don't remember since you're interacting with so many, but I simply wanted to apologize for getting back to you two weeks after your initial note. I'm going to investigate your suggestions later today.
Les, I am looking forward to participating in the activities and discussions. Picture is forthcoming. I am in the process of becoming a RN patient advocate and will be seeking opportunities to do presentations on navigating the health care system. I am also passionate about educating children on the role quality eating plays in quality living. Feed the machine to make it run well. I see community strength in our local schools and gardens. I will ponder your request to administer. Let me know more about how that works I am new to this level of social networking. Rita
Hi, Les. Re: my 900 characters on my group's homepage, I didn't save them but am adept at reproducing, spo that's no problem. The real time spent was in uploading photos etc. Are you meaning that if I re-write them that you'll guide me in placing the (larger) overview on the group's page? Thanks for all you're doing, aMan Bloom
Thanks for your welcome. Interresting to hear you pass by Croatia that often. How come? If you have time i'll be glad to take your offer to help me build the link of our website. Please, feel free to do your magic :)
Thank you for the support. I uploaded my photo. We already have a webpage on transition. I will try to be involved in the discussions here, but for the moment I am very busy building the website. The actual theme is on haybox. I am researching on natural living and the literature to be read, processed and when foreign, translated into albanian is huge.
Thank you for the encouragement. I posted the link to the Manifesto for Transformation...did I do that right?
I had tried to post a photo but I couldn't find it on my computer - 'fraid I'll need my wife or my son to help me do that! I'm a bit of a computer idiot.
I'm sorry to say that I have a hard time finding my way around these social networking forums on the best of days. I use the computer for word processing and e-mail, read the news and mess around on Facebook. I'm sure it all can be useful, but I find it a quagmire. Feel free to post or re-post anything you find useful from my blog...
Hi Les, thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to get acquainted with folks and causes. Withe regard to TSV, I believe they are already registered as a group.
Hi Les, Don Eyermann here. Didn't realize I had 3 profiles. Please feel free to delete the others and leave me one you like (I don't know how to find them). Been really busy working to get our Technology Demonstrator Display Home funded by investors and finalize an agreement with a large Phoenix Developer/Builder to construct our Ultra Energy Efficient structure as a Model Home in their subdivision! This will NOT be just another one-off "science project"...visitors will be able to BUY a Positive Energy Lifestyle Home on one of +30 available home sites!!
Thanks Les. At the mo I will be a sleeping member. There is supposedly a meeting/ meet-up in Tampere - but I get no answer when I mailed the contact email. There has been an election so I waited for a week or so after that to see if there was any response - but no.
It seems like so many other initiatives; Coalition of the Willing or Plant a Million Trees - that there are people doing stuff, just not here and not that I can fit in with and do anything useful (by which I mean practical action and not awareness raising nor informing the public or campaigning) with.
Hi Les, Thank you for the email you sent awhile back with great info and suggestions. We will be developing a website and I will get my pic up, etc.
For now, we are focusing on May 1st, an earth day celebration, highlighting Chris Bedford and his newly released film, "Getting real about food". We are also honoring "local heros" at this event. In the process of making a poster / pdf for this event, and I am seeing the logo that Transition US uses. Is that a logo that all Transition initiatives use or just Transition US?
Les - That's really cool. I am excited to use my blog, kaleidoscope65.com, more often to share my thoughts about transition and living sustainably. I am hoping to communicate more with others seeking similar lifestyle choices. Thank you for keeping me in the loop. Cheers, Lyn
