Hi Les,

No we don't have a transition page for Laurelville yet. I will add a picture to my profile as soon as I can figure some things out.

I came to the Transitional movement as a result of James Howard Kunstler's book the long emergency. But that's been five years ago that he disturbed my life. Hi Hi.

I'd like to talk more but I know you are very busy from the activites I've seen on the TIASN.

I'm new to facebook and social media and am still trying to figure it all out.

Buy the way thank you for replying.

We will need to build the thorium reactors before we build trains.  It is estimated that we will require about 10 per country.

Thanks for the welcome, Les!  I'm a total newbie so I don't even know yet what's local - but when I find out, if it's not already somehow linked through this site, I'll add it!  Best- Stephanie

Hi Les, nice to chat. Yes it's a busy old life! Me - I have two jobs as well as my main passions mentioned... so time is always tight and I am a bit careful now not to undertake more than I can fulfill, however, will look at your admin suggestion for Houhora area when things are a little more under control, after Spring. I do know Dierdre from the other transition site... I have been a member of Transition Town Kaitaia since inception and have friends there, though we are 50km north so makes sense to focus our energy on our local area. Look forward to hearing of your visit over here and maybe we will skype talk one day. Ciao Sue

Thanks for friending me, Les.  I am unable to drag the text box as you suggested. It doesn't move. Any tips for getting it to go where you suggested above?  "Start by dragging the TEXT BOX from below to the top of this center column."

Hi Les! Thank you for your message. I will be in Duluth, Minnesota in October and November, helping the Loaves and Fishes group, and hopefully setting up time banking up there, as well as a Google map of fruit and nut trees available for gleaning.  There is a lot to do up there, and I am very happy to be helping people in the area near where I was born (Superior, Wisconsin - just across the bridge).  I don't have plans to return to New Zealand until Dec 2012, but it may be sooner, depending on how things go in the US.

Just today I gave a whole list of resources to an organizer here in St Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Being nomadic, I don't stay anywhere very long!

Hi Les,
Thanks for friending me. I see that you 're very active in alternative currency thinking. My husband, Russ, is as well. We're located in the Bay Area of northern California. Russ' been reading Stephen Zarlenga's book "The Lost Science of Money" w/c is available for purchase on monetary.org for $80. Apparetit's worth the money. The monetary oppression by the banksters began in 4,000bc, according to Zarlenga, and never stopped. This is a serious, age-old world-domination problem. We're attending the "The American Monetary Institute Conference" in Chicago September 28-October2. Register at monetary.org.Please come!
Best,
Jill

These are not my self-descriptions. Sounds like an interesting person, though.  We have a few things in common. Perhaps there's been some confusion of files?

Thank you for your welcome.  I would like to start a discussion about whether BUSTED (Build us service trains before energy depletion) is wrong headed.  Specifically, whether there is a future for large trucks and semis based on electricity and whether we will need the train.  Can you tell me how to do this?

Thank you for the welcome Les I will be working on my personal info and may take you up on your offer of assistance. I will look into local Transition groups to see what is where. I am just finishing Ellen LaConte's book, "Life Rules" and coming out of retreat with Joanna Macy. As a facilitator in Joanna's "the Work That Reconnects" I am interested in bringing this body of work into the Transition movement. Having read some of the discussions here I feel I have landed in a good spot to connect with other Change Agents......more to come, Blessings.

Hey Les, so glad to connect here! All this information is a bit overwhelming all at once but I certainly look forward to sifting through it and getting more deeply involved. Tons of great ideas!

I'm interested in browsing the groups in global transitions. Is there any way to search rather than paging thru all he groups?

Hi Les,

The Earth Times have published an article about our farm, which I thought might be of interest to US Transitioners: http://www.earthtimes.org/going-green/fieldpower-organics-signposts-zero-carbon-farming/1240/
