Hi Jerry, I'm a bit confused by your comment, can you clarify it for me? You wrote: "Is anyone from the UK planning on working over here with TT? Have you been over here?"
Have I been over where?? Is anyone from the UK planning on working where exactly?? Thanks for your help with this!
Actually, health is a personal interest of mine, but other than our new Mental Health Emergency Response Team, it has not really been a main focus of our local group. Our group is moving along. Way more to do and way more interest than there are people to implement the things we want to do. We had a great meeting yesterday - 18 people for a mini-workshop I did on Transitions followed by a standard meeting with 12 who remained.
Our main group energy is into energy and food production. And most of all right now- getting a GRANT so there are some funds to do some of the things we want to do. I have often wished there were a group (and maybe there is and I just don't now about it) where the local leads just get to share with each other what they're doing and what's working and what isn't, etc. Last night, for example, I wanted to share how well I thought our meeting went and how interesting it is that we had such a spectrum of people - some who think vegan is the only answer to the future of food, for example, others like myself who think we have to allow everyone to make movement without judgement along a spectrum from high-energy to lower to low energy from whatever point they're at to where ever they are willing and able to go at the time.
There was also someone who is very active who thinks many of our local food production plans are going backward fto life of truck farming she spent so much energy escaping as a young person. She and another woman talked about how much they hate canning and such old fashioned ways of preparing food. Others shared how much they love canning and gardening. Boy, do we all have a lot of bridges to explore and cross. We just need to hold from the center.
We're also really into a return to awarenss raising. We did so much a couple fo years back and now we need to do more. Last week I presented TI to the local Sierra Club. Held the workshop this weekend and joined with another person to have monthly documentaries at our local recreational center. Next month we're watching Flow. Also we're doing a PR and gettnig a lot of local publicity lately. This is very very good.
What is your group doing? How large? Did I already say we're from KC? My husband would love to move back to MO, because he could practive law there.
I would love to have a copy of the studies you have prepared. Can't find your e-mail though.
Sarah
PS - We're from KC. Now in CA. Still love MO. Where is Stockton?
