MIMIC THIS! When you get invited to events 3000 miles away (or 20 of them just across town), use COPY & PASTE with the really interesting events to seed your own community's plans for similar events. Why start from scratch.... Beg, borrow and mimic! More....

Hello Ron,
We've moved from Arlington to Dayton VA (about 90 minutes from you) and are interested in local resilient community initatives. I've become active in John Robb's new photowiki (MiiU.org) for resilient places, and have created a profile of Dayton at http://MiiU.org/wiki/Dayton . We're interested in exploring permaculture and 3D printing opportunities here - will welcome any ideas or connections you may have on this. Hope you and/or others there can add pages to MiiU as well on resiliency-related initiatives in your area!
Welcome Ron. Great to see your interest in Transition! Welcome to TRANSITION IN ACTION.
http://transitioninaction.com/group/linktransitionvirginiausa is your link to our new Transition page for your neighbors in Virginia. Feel free to join in the activities. Use the COMMENT WALL to say Hello to the others. Reinforce the good things they are doing. Mention something you're interested in. Ask a question. Start a discussion. Let me know if you would like to be an Admin on this page to help build and maintain your group's Resume. Have fun!
On the local scene, does Roanoke (or some broader geographic area) have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup? If so, it would be spot on for all our members if you would consider including a link to what's happening in Roanoke in our registry of organizations, localities, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. supporting Transition and Sustainability. Here's the page to create the link -- http://transitioninaction.com/groups/group/new. I'll be glad to help launch and build your link.
You can see all our 315+ groups at http://transitioninaction.com/groups. Use Search on this page to find a specific group. Let me know when you have questions about details.
"Les, this is Ron from Roanoke, VA. I sent you a bioregion group info. You asked me to reply with a description. Mail demon won't allow it. Is there another address I can send it to?">>
